2020 Pink Goes Red Event
On February 7, 2020, Delta Omega's Target 2 committee (Women's Healthcare & Wellness), sponsored a "Pink Goes Red" Healthy Heart Day event at the Masonic Lodge in Petersburg, VA. The event was very informative and lots of fun. We were excited about bringing awareness to the devastating effects of heart disease in communities around this country. Participants had the opportunity to receive Wellness Coaching & Blood Pressure Screenings. Membership is "PEARLfection" Activity
On February 13, 2020, Delta Omega Chapter, in partnership with the Ivy Community Foundation presented the Dinwiddie Lions Club International® with a monetary donation and 48 pairs of eyeglasses. The eyeglasses were collected on January 20, 2020, in observance of Martin Luther King Day of Service.

As part of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® international Target V: Global Impact, the Sorority participates in an eyeglass initiative designed to prevent blindness, help restore eyesight, and improve eye health and eye care for millions of people around the world by donating used eyeglasses in partnership with local Lions Clubs. Delta Omega Chapter has entered into a new partnership with the Dinwiddie Lions Club that will culminate in June 2022. Future projects include ongoing eyeglass donations, White Cane Day, and volunteering to perform vision screenings.
