Delta Omega 95th Anniversary Luncheon

On November 12, 2016, Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.® held its 95th Chapter Anniversary Luncheon. We were so elated to have our International President, Dr. Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, as the guest speaker. Also in attendance was our Mid-Atlantic Regional Director, Ms. Joyce Henderson, along with several former Mid-Atlantic Regional Directors, members of the Directorate, chairmen of International Committees, and a host of elected officials. It was a historic and absolute beautiful occasion. Delta Omega chapter is proud to be the first graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® chartered on the East Coast, the oldest chapter in the Mid-Atlantic Region, and the fourth graduate chapter established in our illustrious organization, the first Greek-lettered sorority for Black women in America, founded at Howard University in 1908. Against a backdrop of changes in African American society and culture, Delta Omega chapter was chartered on February 6, 1921 by six intelligent women of grace and refinement in Petersburg, Virginia.
