Metro Richmond AKA HBCU College Fair
On September 28, 2019, the Metro Richmond/Petersburg area chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, hosted their 5th Annual HBCU College Fair. The event will take place at Second Baptist Church 3300 Broad Rock Blvd. Richmond, VA 23224. We had a great time interacting with the young people and their parents. It was an awesome experience!

Delta Omega #CAP Event 2019

On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, #CAP of Target 1: HBCU for Life was in full effect. At the College Education Expo held by Delta Omega Chapter on Saturday, Sept 14th, our guest speaker, Robert Mason, founder of the Common Black College App, gave the students that were present a true gift. He informed them that because of their commitment to their future, he would allow them to complete the Common Black College App for FREE! As a result, the Target 1 committee set up at the Petersburg Public Library and 14 students took Mr Mason up on his offer! The room was filled with excitement as students realized “I am applying to college!” And parents sighed “My baby just applied to 55 HBCU’s!!” It was truly amazing! #CAP is on the roll because Target 1 is HBCU for LIFE!!!

Harlem Renaissance Meets Membership!

On September 6, 2019, Target IV: The Arts! & our Membership Committee collided to put on a Harlem Renaissance themed Reactivation Paint Nite! The evening included food, fun, poetry and of course, PAINTING!! It was a great time for current chapter members to bond, while also forging new relationships with some of our lost pearls.
2019 "Battle of the States"
On September 7, 2019, Virginia State University's football team kicked-off its season-opener at Norfolk State University. This 'long-standing' rivalry took place at the William "Dick" Price Stadium, on the campus of Norfolk State University.

One of the initiatives for Target I is to support and bring awareness to our HBCUs. With that being said...Delta Omega and the Iota Omega Chapter (Norfolk) hosted a "Battle-of-the-States" alumni social. This alumni social was held at the UNO Pizzeria and Grill, 5900 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502. The time for this event was 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
